Whitney-Ann Patrick is a Trinidadian born acrylic painter currently completing a Master of Communication & Cultural Studies in Toronto, Canada. Whitney-Ann aims to represent Caribbean cultural phenomenon on canvas, exploring Black femininity, Caribbean cultural spectacles and the everyday rhythm of Caribbean existence. Moreover, Whitney-Ann is interested in probing how technology has reshaped cultural artifacts and celebrations and aims to shed light on the profound changes in the way we perceive and engage with cultural expressions in our technologically driven era. Through her art, she empowers the viewer to embark on a journey of self-discovery, encouraging them to embrace theirown complexities and find solace in the cathartic release of artistic expression.
